Director, Paradigm Junction
James is the Founding Director of Paradigm Junction, a technology disruption consultancy which helps UK businesses and public sector organisations adjust to the impacts of emerging technology.
He works with senior leaders to understand how new technologies, particularly AI and automation, will affect their organisations, markets and workforces. His work focuses on translating technological change into practical decisions about strategy, operating models, governance, adoption and workforce planning. James is also a Co-Founder of the Institute for Driverless Transport.
James previously worked in financial markets at J.P. Morgan and in the UK Government’s COVID-19 response, where he led modelling teams at the UK Health Security Agency. He studied Natural Sciences at Pembroke College, University of Cambridge and was later a Special Student at Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, focusing on technology policy, economics, GovTech, cybersecurity and network economics.

He works with organisations to understand how emerging technologies, particularly AI, are reshaping markets, institutions and working practices. His work focuses on turning technological change into practical insight for senior leaders, with experience spanning political campaigns, public policy, regulatory reform and organisational adoption. He is also the author of Self-Driving Insights, a newsletter on the Economic and Social impacts of autonomous vehicles.
Before joining Paradigm Junction, Tym worked at the Centre for British Progress, where he researched how emerging technologies could shape the British economy, and in the parliamentary office of Kanishka Narayan, Minister for AI. He studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Oxford.
